Rome is the most popular city in Italy for the tourists. This grand and majestic city is filled with Roman architecture, monuments, world famous museums and churches and the Vatican City. The most famous artists who worked for the Popes were Michelangelo, Perugino, Raphael, Ghirlandaio, Botticelli, Bernini, Bramante, Caravaggio, and Carracci.

Museums

The Vatican Museum is an important one and most famous in the world. Other important museums in Rome are the Galleria Borghese, Galleria Doria Pamphili, Accademia di San Luca, Musei Capitolini, Musuem of Rome and the Palazzo Altemps.

Famous Artworks

Most famous artworks that are a must-see are Michelangelo’s breath-taking frescoes at the Sistine Chapel, Caravaggio’s works at San Luigi dei Francesi church, Raphael’s works at the Vatican museum, and Bernini’s “Ecstasy of St. Teresa” at the Santa Maria della Vittoria church.

What to see!

Best attractions to enjoy are the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain, Tivoli Gardens, Spanish steps, Vatican museum, St. Peter’s Basilica, Colosseum, and the ruins of the Roman Forum. The beauty of the Palazzo Venezia and Castel Sant’Angelo are breath-taking especially in the evenings. A night tour of Rome is extremely beautiful.

Best times to visit Rome are September through May when the weather is lovely and pleasant. A tour of this Eternal City is one that can be unforgettable and amazing!
